Femi Odejayi

Femi Odejayi was born on 19th February 1970. After primary education, he joined Mayflower School, Ikenne in 1982 for secondary education, obtaining his WASC/GCE O’Levels in 1986. He then attended Federal Government College, Odogbolu for his Advanced Levels in 1988. In 1989, he was admitted to the College of Medicine, University of Ilorin, graduating with an MBBS in 1995. He completed his internship at General Hospital, Lagos in 1996, followed by his National Youth Service at Mercy Catholic Hospital, Arochukwu.

In 1997, upon completing his Youth Service, he joined Unity Hospitals, Ikeja as a Medical Officer in Surgery until 1999. He then moved to Ghana, working at St. Theresa’s Hospital, Nkoranza and St. Joseph’s Hospital, Jirapa as a Senior House Officer until 2002. His journey then took him to Ireland where he joined Coombe Women’s Hospital, Dolphin Barn in 2002, and later St. James’ Hospital as a Senior House Officer until 2005. He moved to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin as a Registrar in Anesthesia.

Between 2007 and 2011, he served at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Elms Park and the Adelaide Meath and National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght, Dublin as a Specialist Registrar. Post-training, he worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Regional Hospital, Mullingar and Sligo General Hospital, Sligo, Ireland from 2011 to 2013. He then relocated to the United Kingdom, working at various hospitals as a Consultant Anesthetist between 2014 and 2018. He served at Milton Keynes University Hospital as a Consultant Anesthetist and Intensivist from 2018 to 2019.

Since January 2020, he has been with King Abdulhaziz National Guard Hospital, Al-Hasa, Saudi Arabia as a Consultant Anesthetist. Holding full and specialist registrations with the medical councils of Nigeria, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia, ExMay Odejayi has published numerous papers and made several presentations on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine over the years. An avid chess player, ExMay Odejayi is married and a very active member of his ExMays 1981/86 Set, contributing to all the Class Set’s projects.
