Dr. Oluyemi A. Olawaiye

Dr. Oluyemi A. Olawaiye was born in the United States of America in the early 1970s, but commenced his educational journey at Mayflower Junior School Ikeenne, followed by the Senior School, both situated in Nigeria. He relocated to America in November of 1992.

In 1995, after attending New York City Technical College, he moved from New York City to Buffalo, New York, upon gaining admission to the State University of New York in Buffalo for the Doctor of Pharmacy program. He successfully graduated in 2003, earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree along with a Minor in Marketing from the School of Management. Shortly after, he was offered a position as a pharmacist with CVS Pharmacy Company in New Jersey. He then returned to New York in 2004 to work for another Fortune 500 company, Duane Reade, until 2009.

In 2010, Dr. Olawaiye embraced his first teaching appointment in a clinical setting at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, the largest private hospital in Bronx, New York, where he served until 2014. Concurrently in 2010, while stationed at the hospital, he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by establishing a car company named Otesco Inc., which he managed until selling it in 2014. In 2011, along with his wife, he founded Yeloto African Children Foundation, a charitable organisation. YELOTO, an NGO, strives to provide essential amenities like healthcare, education, and nutrition to underprivileged children across Africa, embodying Dr. Olawaiye’s belief in the old adage, “It takes a global village to raise a child.”

Over the past eight years, Dr. Olawaiye has also been engaged in a scholarship program for Mayflower students, offering cash rewards to the top male and female students in all classes. Furthermore, Yemi Olawaiye has actively participated in various developmental programs of the esteemed 92 set.
